Only-Roof-House
Holiday home
for "Nivo-Magazine"
Architect: Justus Dahinden
Client: Josef Dahinden
Location: Rigi / Switzerland
Execution Year: 1955
Already in his first realized building, the 'only-roof-house', planned as a holiday home for his father, Justus Dahinden saw the shape of the pyramid as the values he demanded from his buildings as an architect. Since then, the philosophy of the oblique has accompanied his architectural universe, which developed beyond the mainstream. Today, the pyramid on the Rigi bears witness to the fundamental search for new territory in post-war modernism. Despite the hillside location, I shot the house frontally from all four sides.
