Auhalde
New terraced houses
Architect: Pool Architekten
Client: Feldmann Immobilien AG
Location: Untersiggenthal, Aarau
Execution Year: 2013
The housing estate is situated on a south-facing moraine slope that runs along the Limmat. The development is divided into four buildings. The steep slope is designed with a sequence of shotcrete walls and low 'bush cushions' embedded in the slope situation to strengthen the natural, already existing character of the former vineyard slope. From the Auhaldenstrasse up to the Höhenweg, the development here meanders with stairs and ramps. A lateral, underground inclined lift connects all apartments with the lower level and the car park. With the typology of the terrace house, the main feature is directed to the glass front with the panorama. The terraces, which are mirrored to each other from floor to floor, each with a covered part, form a play in the front view and give the apartments on the floors their individuality.
